Minaajnar Microfinance Mina a Self – Sufficient Woman
Mina Ajnar, married to Jitendra, is a resident of Chandrasekhar Azad Nagar in Ahrajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. She is class 8 pass and her husband class 5 pass. She has family memebers including her 2 children. Her daughter is studying in class 10th and son is in class 5. Economic condition of family was very pathetic in 2009-10. Her husband was a daily wages laborer. Mina’s daughter was four years old at that time.
To add in monthly income, she decided to do some serving wrok, she used to leave her daughter with neighbors and started working on rented machine. While working, coworker women told her about Prayas Loan scheme. Mina also took a loan of Rs. 7000 from Prayas and purchased a sewing machine. Now. she could stich cloths at her without leaving her daughter with neighbors and started earning Rs. 3000 / month.
Gradually Mina also convinced and involved her husband as helper in stitching business. Slowly her husband is also learnt stitching and slowly started giving more time in stitching than daily wages and undignified work in other state.
In 2019, they took another loan of Rs. 25,000 from Prayas and both husband and wife ate starting Rs 9000 – 10000 / month, with dignity and at the same place. “They own a cemented house, 3 sewing machine and motorcycle at home.
Meena has also taken part time job with Rs 5000 / month, in a school as peon to support studies of her children and increase the business.
She is also Planning to start cosmetics business with existing customers in the community.
Today when she and her husband, looks back, they feel proud of how far they have come in life with better living condition, schools going to children card aspirations to do more business.
